How are nasal masses in children diagnosed?

Johns Hopkins Medicine
Your doctor will obtain a complete medical history and will perform a thorough physical examination. Tests may be ordered, including imaging studies, lab tests and detailed physical examinations. These may include:
•Endoscopy to examine the inside of your child's nose and throat. This is performed by inserting a small, flexible or rigid tube inside your child's nose. This can often be carried out in the clinic and is a minor procedure.
•CT scan or MRI, to determine the size and extent of the nasal tumor
•Blood tests, when necessary
•Biopsy of the mass (a piece of tissue is removed from the mass and is evaluated by a pathologist)
