How does Aleve (naproxen) differ from Anaprox (naproxen)?

Aleve is a non-prescription medication that is available over-the-counter and is indicated for the temporary relief of minor pain and inflammation. Anaprox is a prescription drug indicated for relief of chronic pain and inflammation. Anaprox is the same formulation as Aleve, but in a prescription-strength version of the drug. Anaprox is the same formulation as Naprosyn, but in a fast-acting version of the drug. Both medications are NSAIDs that treat pain associated with menstruation. Naprosyn is manufactured by Roche Pharmaceuticals. Aleve is manufactured by Bayer Healthcare, previously Roche Pharmaceuticals.
