Who should use chromium?

Most people get all the chromium they need from their food and don't need to take supplements. Chromium deficiency is very rare and is treated with chromium supplements or injections. Some people with diabetes find that chromium improves their blood sugar control. It may also make insulin act more effectively. If you have diabetes, discuss chromium supplements with your doctor before you try them.
