What is localized and advanced malignant mesothelioma?

Localized malignant mesothelioma refers to the earliest stage of the disease in which only a very small area is affected and the cancer has not yet spread. Advanced malignant mesothelioma refers to stages II through IV of the cancer in which the disease has spread to other areas of the body. Your doctor can determine the severity of the disease.
