Is there a cure for kidney stones?

There is no cure for kidney stones, but you can make changes to your lifestyle to help prevent or reduce the occurrence of future stones. If you or a family member is prone to kidney stones, drinking plenty of water and eating foods that do not contribute to the build-up of minerals in your kidneys will help. Your doctor can prescribe medicines that will help balance your system and keep you healthy. The only time kidney stones may be cured is if they are a symptom of another condition, such as hyperparathyroidism, which can be cured by the surgical removal of the parathyroid glands.
