How effective is tofacitinib?

Studies have shown tofacitinib to be effective, either alone or combined with methotrexate, for lowering RA disease activity, relieving symptoms, and improving physical function. Improvements may be noticed within 2 weeks. One study showed that tofacitinib was about as effective as the TNF inhibitor adalimumab.
