Once treatment begins, symptoms likely will subside, and your overall feeling of health will improve. If you have lost weight, you may need to add protein to your diet and increase calorie intake until your hyperthyroidism is brought under control. You may also need to add calcium supplements to your diet, as hyperthyroidism can often lead to weak bones.

You can manage hyperthyroidism on a daily basis by taking prescribed medications every day. There are no particular dietary restrictions or activity restrictions. A healthy diet and regular exercise is all that's needed.
