What is a safe way to make stuffing?

You can make stuffing safely by following a few basic rules:

1. Wash all produce thoroughly.
2. Avoid cross-contamination by using clean utensils, chopping boards and dishware.
3. Cook all foods to the proper temperature. Most stuffing recipes include dry ingredients and some vegetables, which do not have bacteria to cause foodborne illnesses if you follow the rules above.

If you’re stuffing a turkey, be sure to cook it until it has an internal temperature of 165 degrees F to ensure all bacteria are destroyed. Be sure to insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast and the innermost part of the thigh.
