There is no cure for overactive bladder, although there are many treatment options that can help you to manage some of the urinary symptoms. The sudden urges to use the bathroom may improve through the use of medications that relax the bladder muscles. Lifestyle changes, including weight loss, a high fiber diet, and reduction in caffeinated beverages and alcohol, can help as well. The use of a voiding schedule and bladder training may also be helpful in the control of symptoms.
