What is the relationship between dandruff and skin health?

Dandruff is a skin condition that is also called seborrheic dermatitis. Generally, dandruff includes mild itchiness and flaking of the skin on your scalp, but it may also cause pimples and greasy scales to appear. Adults can treat dandruff by using over-the-counter medicated shampoos. Sometimes corticosteroids and salicylic acid treatments are used to loosen the scales of skin that develop.
