What is the right dosage fluoxetine?

The adult dose of fluoxetine depends on the condition, including:

• Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Initially, the typical dose is 20 milligrams (mg.) taken orally once daily. The maintenance dose is 20 mg./day continuously. The maximum dose is 80 mg./day.
• Depression. Initial dose: 20 mg. orally, taken once a day in the morning. Maintenance dose: 20 to 80 mg./day in one or two divided doses.
• Obsessive compulsive disorder. Initial dose: 20 mg. orally once a day in the morning. Maintenance dose: 20 to 60 mg./day in one or two divided doses. Maximum dose: 80 mg./day.
• Panic disorder. Initial dose: 20 mg. orally once a day in the morning. Maintenance dose: 20 to 60 mg./day in one or two divided doses. Maximum dose: 80 mg./day.
• Bulimia. Initial dose: 60 mg. orally once a day in the morning. Some people start with lower doses.
