What are the side effects of fibrates?

Side effects may include abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, gallstones, a rash, itching, and hives. Other side effects may include inflammation of the pancreas and abnormal liver function. Fibrates may also damage muscles, especially when they are taken with statin drugs.
