Women who are pregnant, suspect they are pregnant, or are breast-feeding should not take Premphase. Women who have an estrogen-dependent tumor, abnormal vaginal bleeding, active or recent stroke or heart attack, circulation problems, a history of blood clots, or liver disease should also not take Premphase. In addition, women with diabetes may not be able to take Premphase. Finally, women without an intact uterus probably do not need the protective progesterone component of Premphase.
