Is there a cure for eating disorders?

It is possible to cure eating disorders with psychotherapy and weight restoration. Some people with eating disorders will only have one episode and will be cured with therapy. However, others will relapse, and still others will never be cured.

There is not a “cure” for eating disorders. However, someone can recover from their eating disorder with the right kind of treatment. Eating disorder treatment often involves several different levels and types of therapy. The primary treatment comes from an individual therapy with a licensed therapist, nutrition therapy with a registered dietitian, medication assessment and management with a psychiatrist, and treatment from a medical doctor.
