Can ear disorders be prevented?

Some ear disorders may be preventable. External otitis, an ear canal infection, also known as swimmer's ear, may be prevented by using eardrops made from one part alcohol and one part vinegar. Talk to your Doctor about doing this first. Some middle ear infections may be prevented by staying away from sick people. You may use allergy medicines or decongestants to treat the illness. Check with your Doctor first if you have any medical conditions. Other conditions, such as structural abnormalities or Meniere's disease, are not easily prevented.
