Who should take amiloride?

Patients who suffer from congestive heart failure or hypertension (high blood pressure) could take amiloride to help restore normal potassium levels in the bloodstream. Also, patients with low potassium levels that have been diagnosed with hypokalemia are candidates for this prescription medication. Be sure to talk with your doctor about your daily diet and supplemental medications because both can affect the outcome of taking any prescription medications.
