When should I call my doctor if I am taking Microzide?

If you are taking the diuretic Microzide (hydrochlorothiazide), call your doctor immediately if you have any of these serious side effects:
  • sore throat with fever
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
  • severe skin rash with peeling skin
  • difficulty swallowing
  • trouble passing urine
If you're having trouble breathing, it's a medical emergency -- call 911.

Call your doctor if you have other side effects that bother you or don't go away, such as stomach problems or dizziness. If you have another medical condition, such as diabetes or gout, and notice changes in those symptoms, let your doctor know.
