How fast does Aldactone (spironolactone) work?

A Answers (1)

  • A Stacy Wiegman, PharmD, Pharmacy, answered
Aldactone (spironolactone) usually takes about two weeks or longer to start having an effect, depending on why you're taking the drug. Because you may not feel any symptoms from high blood pressure, you will probably not notice any change in the way you feel after taking Aldactone. If you have edema, you will probably notice that you gradually retain less fluid while taking Aldactone.
