If you have severe liver disease, kidney disorder or failure, congestive heart disease, diabetes, a blood disorder or edema (excess fluid in your body), you may not be able to use Aminosyn II 3.5% in 5% dextrose injection. Your doctor will monitor you carefully when you are using an amino acid injection, such as Aminosyn II 3.5% in 5% dextrose injection, to reduce the risk of fluid retention or worsening of your kidney, liver or heart disease or your asthma, hyperkalemia or respiratory alkalosis.

Having an allergy to aluminum increases the risk of aluminum toxicity, especially if your kidneys are impaired in any way. Adults with high levels of blood urea and nitrogen should not use Aminosyn II 3.5% in 5% dextrose injection without regular blood tests. This amino acid injection is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Aminosyn II 3.5% in 5% dextrose injection also is not recommended for children younger than one year of age.
