If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, discuss the risks and benefits of taking FDG with your doctor. FDG contains a small amount of radiation that will not threaten you but may pose risks to a developing fetus or baby. The following conditions also may interfere with FDG's ability to help diagnose certain medical problems: urinary tract blockage, menstruation, diabetes and anxiety. Before taking FDG or any other drug, make sure your doctor has your complete medical history. It should include all prescription and over-the-counter drugs you take, as well as herbal supplements. Also, tell your doctor about any food, drug or other allergies.
