An allergic reaction is the only side effect that is usually reported with the use of thallous chloride, and that rarely occurs. Because this drug is administered in a hospital or clinic, medical personnel are available to take care of an allergic reaction. Symptoms include: swelling of the hands, feet or throat; rapid heartbeat; breathing problems; fainting or problems staying awake; fever or chills; itching, rash or hives; stomach pain with possible nausea or vomiting; red or flushed skin; or a severe headache.
