Why should I be using a blood glucose meter?

Testing blood sugar with a diabetic meter helps your doctor monitor how well you are managing the condition so he or she can adjust the type and dosage of insulin and other diabetes medications as necessary. Your doctor will tell you how often you should test your blood sugar. Using a diabetic meter as recommended by your doctor can also alert you is your blood sugar levels are dangerously low or high.
