Insulin May be the main hormone that helps to regulate blood sugar, but there are others that have an important role in keeping glucose levels within the healthy range. There are three that are important where diabetes medications are concerned: glucagon, glucagon-like peptide-1 (usually called GLP-1) and amylin.
