What is minoxidil?

Minoxidil is a prescription medication that comes in two forms: tablet and liquid. The different forms of minoxidil are each used for a different purpose. Minoxidil tablets are used with other medications to help control high blood pressure. Liquid minoxidil is used on the skin to promote hair growth. Minoxidil is not a cure for high blood pressure or hair loss, but it may help both conditions.
