Cortisporin ointment may cause a variety of side effects, ranging from mild to serious. Typical side effects include: itching, dryness or a burning sensation of the skin. If you have trouble breathing; swelling in the face, lips, tongue or neck; an itchy rash; or hives, you may be allergic to the medication and should get immediate medical assistance. More serious side effects include: hearing and kidney problems, worsening inflammation, rashes, skin discoloration, hair growth and difficulty seeing. Get medical help immediately if you have any of these more serious side effects or if your condition does not improve in the expected period of time.
