What are the symptoms of spinal stenosis?

Spinal stenosis is a narrowing around the spine that puts pressure on the nerves or the spinal cord itself. It's quite common in people over 50. There can be some instability in the spine where there is abnormal motion, which causes your body to thicken the tissues in that area. Slowly over time, this causes the nerves to get compressed. It can also cause numbness and weakness in your arms and legs. If the nerves are compressed in the neck, it is very common for people to have trouble walking. Their balance may be affected as well.
