What are the side effects of Dilt-CD (diltiazem)?

The most common side effects of Dilt-CD are: bradycardia (lowered heart rate); headaches; water retention in the lower legs, hands and feet; weakness; vomiting; diarrhea; constipation; nasal congestion; cough; flushing; dizziness; lightheadedness. More serious side effects include: extreme fatigue; swelling of the eyes, face, tongue, lips, feet, ankles, hands, arms or lower legs; fainting; difficulty breathing; difficulty swallowing; jaundice (yellowing of the eyes and skin); excessive or unusual bruising or bleeding; loss of appetite; lowered energy levels; flu-like symptoms; increase in severity or frequency of angina; pain in the upper right portion of the abdomen. If any of these side effects are severe or persist, talk to your doctor immediately.
