How can I minimize the side effects of Cozaar?

You can minimize side effects from the blood pressure medication Cozaar (losartan) by taking it exactly as your doctor prescribes. Don't take more of it, or take it more often, than you're instructed. Because Cozaar can interact with a number of other drugs and other substances, you can also minimize side effects by telling your doctor about all your other medications (prescription and over-the-counter) as well as any supplements you take. Make sure your doctor knows your complete medical history, as well, because the risk for complications from Cozaar increases if you have certain conditions, especially heart, liver or kidney problems.

One common side effect of Cozaar is dizziness or light-headedness when you get up after sitting or lying down. You can minimize this side effect by rising slowly.
