What happens if I miss a dose of Novolog Flexpen?

Novolog Flexpen should be taken with food, within 5 to 10 minutes of when you eat. If you remember your missed dose right before or right after you eat, go ahead and inject the missed dose right away. If time has passed since you have eaten, call your doctor for instructions. Your blood sugar levels may spike in a dangerous manner. Do not double up the dose, since this can increase your risk of dangerous side effects, such as hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
