Is there a generic version of NovoLog?

A generic form of NovoLog (insulin aspart) is not currently available, for two reasons. First, an initial patent will not expire until October 2014. Second, NovoLog is a biologic medication, and the production of biologic medicines is restricted. Until the regulations regarding the biologic medications change, it is not likely that a generic version of NovoLog will be produced.
