What are the side effects of miglitol?

If you experience these less serious side effects when taking miglitol, you should continue taking your medication and call your doctor: abdominal pain, gas, bloating, diarrhea, flatulence, and skin rash. Stop talking miglitol and seek medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction to the medication, including breathing difficulties, swelling of face, closing throat, or hives. Because other side effects may occur, you should notify a doctor about any new symptoms so that a doctor can determine if the symptoms are related to use of miglitol.
