Does long-acting insulin cause less weight gain?

Long-acting insulin (such as Lantus and Levemir) and newer premixed insulin (such as Humulog 50/50, Humalog 75/25 and Novolog 70/30) have different benefits in treating people with diabetes. The long-acting insulins do seem to cause less weight gain than the premixed insulins do, both the older and the newer premixed.
