Who should not take pyrimethamine?

Pyrimethamine (Daraprim) should not be taken by people who have anemia or other blood problems, as large doses of pyrimethamine can worsen these illnesses. Pyrimethamine should not be used by those with kidney or liver problems, vitamin B deficiency, or a seizure disorder. Do not take pyrimethamine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in pyrimethamine.

Pyrimethamine's use during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been widely studied. Talk to you doctor about the benefits and the risks of pyrimethamine treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or may become pregnant.
