What should I know about clocortolone before using it?

People who have allergies to the ingredients in clocortolone or similar medications should not use it. Clocortolone could be dangerous if used incorrectly. Never ingest it or overuse it, as it could cause problems with your adrenal or pituitary gland. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should discuss with their doctors the risks they would be taking by using clocortolone before doing so, as should parents of children with skin problems. Tell your doctor about any recent vaccinations you have had. Be sure to discuss your medical history with your doctor thoroughly, especially if you suffer from a skin infection, the measles, poor circulation, shingles, tuberculosis, open wounds where the drug is needed or chicken pox. Lastly, ask your dermatologist or doctor for tips on how to reduce your chances for side effects, especially if you also use any other products on your skin.
