Chemotherapy, radiation, and other standard therapies are considered the best way to treat AIDS-related lymphoma. Some alternative treatments, such as acupuncture and meditation, may be used along with standard medical care to help ease side effects such as pain and stress. However, some alternative therapies can be dangerous (St. John's Wort, for example, may interfere with some HIV medications), and none are recommended as a substitute for standard medical care. Be sure to let your doctor know about all alternative therapies you are using.
