What causes adrenal gland disorders in children?

Adrenal gland disorders in children often have genetic causes. Congenital defects in the adrenal glands can cause them to produce too little of their hormones. Congenital adrenal hyperplasia is one such condition. Symptoms of congenital adrenal gland disorders may manifest in infancy, or they may not appear until adulthood.
