Treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) usually helps children with their social skills. Kids with ADHD often do not realize that their behavior is inappropriate. They do not understand why they have trouble making friends. Treatment helps them gain control over impulsive behavior and lets them pay more attention during social interactions. Working with a social skills therapist can help kids with ADHD learn how to interact better with their peers and other people.
