What are possible side effects of Vasotec?

Cough, dizziness, rash and weakness are the most common side effects from taking Vasotec (enalapril), a prescription medication for high blood pressure or heart failure. These are usually mild.

Vasotec can also have some serious side effects, although they're uncommon. These include:
  • fainting or light-headedness
  • swelling in the throat, tongue, face, eyes, lips, feet, hands, lower legs or ankles
  • difficulty swallowing or breathing
  • hoarseness
  • having your skin or eyes turn yellow
  • sore throat, chills, fever and other symptoms of infection
