There is a generic version of Mavik, available under the name trandolapril. The medication is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and to improve the odds of survival for people who develop heart failure after a heart attack. Trandolapril is sold by several companies, and is available in 1 milligram (mg), 2 mg and 4 mg dosages.
