How soon after I start Altace will my symptoms improve?

After you start taking Altace (ramipril) to treat high blood pressure, you should start seeing a reduction in your blood pressure levels within one to two hours. (The effects of one dose of Altace usually last up to 24 hours, but some people may need to take it twice a day.) However, because high blood pressure often has no symptoms, you may not feel any different.

Remember that Altace can control high blood pressure, but it does not cure it. You should not stop taking Altace, even if you feel better or your blood pressure numbers improve, without talking to your doctor.
