Does Altace affect people of some ethnicities differently?

Altace (ramipril) has been found to be less effective at lowering blood pressure in black people than in people of other races. In studies, black people also had an increased risk of developing a serious allergic reaction called angioedema while taking angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, including Altace.

Studies have also found that Asians have an increased risk of developing a chronic cough while taking an ACE inhibitor like Altace, making it more likely that they would have to stop taking the drug.
