Can I take Vasotec if I have a history of scleroderma?

If you have a history of scleroderma, you will likely be able to take Vasotec (enalapril), a drug to treat high blood pressure. People with scleroderma don't tend to have any greater risks of side effects with this drug than anyone else. What's more, Vasotec may help treat the kidney and heart problems that can occur with scleroderma.

Before you start Vasotec, give your doctor a complete medical history, including past and current health problems. You should also give him or her a list of all your other medications, whether prescription or over-the-counter, as well as any dietary or herbal supplements or vitamins.
