Our Mission

Johnston-Willis Hospital in Chesterfield County has 292 beds and offers the kind of sophisticated clinical services not often found in a community hospital. The Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital is accredited by the American College of Surgeons and provides complete oncology care – medical, surgical and radiation therapy – along with clinical trials. The Neuroscience & Gamma Knife Center draws patients from throughout the mid-Atlantic region because of its specialty expertise. Our affiliated physicians are renowned for their surgical skills, including their innovative use of laparoscopic techniques. Johnston-Willis also provides comprehensive women’s services that cross a number of clinical areas, treating women of all ages. Our pediatric-ready Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 by nurses and physicians with training in handling even the most complex cases. In addition, we are a Primary Stroke Care Center and accredited Chest Pain Center, reflecting our industry-leading approach in using evidence-based care for patients. Johnston-Willis is part of HCA Virginia, the commonwealth’s most comprehensive health system with 13 hospitals, two freestanding Emergency Centers, some 30 other outpatient centers, and 3,200 affiliated physicians in central, southwest and northern Virginia.
