How does vitamin C help reduce stress?

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin. And you can-- you'll get rid of it in your pee. And also, if you're stressed, you're
going to be using a lot of it up. So it's good to replenish throughout the day. [MUSIC PLAYING]
Vitamin C we usually think about when it comes to preventing colds and flus. But quite honestly, it's amazing with stress.
There a study that came out that actually proves vitamin C has the ability to decrease the psychological and physical effects of stress.
It is heavily concentrated in our adrenal glands. Those are our stress glands.
Now, for stress protection throughout the entire day, what you might want to think about is actually taking a time-released vitamin C--
so 1000mg in the morning. And let it work all throughout the day, as your stress sort of simmers all throughout the day, because water--
vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin. And you can-- you'll get rid of it in your pee. And also, if you're stressed, you're
going to be using a lot of it up. So it's good to replenish throughout the day.
You can take it in divided doses. But if you forget, and if you're not great at taking multiple-- or taking
supplements multiple times a day, take that time-release in the morning. [AUDIO LOGO]
