[MUSIC PLAYING] Now, these treatments typically are performed every 3 to 4 months on average, and they're seeing the results after about 6 to 12 months.
So PRP is one of the newest treatments for thinning hair. And basically what we do with PRP is we separate out the platelets from the remainder of the blood.
And that's chock full of growth factors. And the idea then is when you inject that platelet rich plasma, those growth factors, into the hair,
around the hair follicles, it causes inactive hair follicles to switch to an active growth phase. And this causes the hair to look fuller.
Now, these treatments typically are performed every 3 to 4 months on average, and they're seeing the results after about 6 to 12 months.
But it's a brand new treatment and we're still getting more and more information and evidence regarding this.
Now, injecting PRP into the scalp to enhance hair growth is performed starting by drawing the actual blood.
So we draw the blood from a person's arm. And we place that blood into a specialized vial. That vial is then placed into a centrifuge
and spun real quickly. That causes the blood to separate so you can separate the red blood cells from the plasma, which is rich in platelets.
That platelet-rich plasma is chock full of growth factors. And when that's injected into the scalp, it causes the hair follicles to go from an inactive growth phase
