Oil pulling is one of the simplest and oldest detoxification methods, and it's fantastic because you actually
get to use your mouth for something good rather than just using it to put toxins in your body.
It's very, very simple to do. All that you need to do is take about 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil.
Typically, we recommend using sesame oil. But if you have an allergy to sesame or can't tolerate it, you can also use sunflower oil.
Swish it around your mouth for 10 to 15 minutes. What I typically do is put it in my mouth first thing
in the morning and then go about and take my shower, get ready, and then spit it out and brush your teeth afterwards. The way that oil pulling works is salivary
glands naturally concentrate toxins, and the oil pulls the saliva out of those glands
and captures the toxins. So when you spit the oil out, you're actually taking the toxins from the salivary gland
and spitting them out with the oil. I typically do this on a daily basis
to make sure that my body doesn't accumulate toxins just from my daily routine. You can brush your teeth immediately
after so you don't get that oily film. You know you've done it properly if it's white and frothy.
And afterwards you can take a look at your tongue. And if there's any increased areas where you have a white buildup, those are corresponding organs
in the body that have just released more toxins. [AUDIO LOGO]
