So diabetic retinopathy is treated based on the extent of the retinopathy in the back of the eye. There's two different things we look at.
One can be swelling in the back of the eye, which generally affects, again, the central vision in the retina. That can really decrease the patient's vision at that moment
or down the road, and we want to prevent that from happening. Some of the things we have available are either a laser treatment that
can help seal off some of these leaky blood vessels, or other times we can inject medication-- different kinds of medication into the eye
