Bio

I attended Loyola University, majoring in Biology and upon early acceptance to dental school, went on to Univeristy of Illinois Dental School after 3 years of undergraduate studies. I started my own private practice in the town I live in, which has grown to be a full time practice. I also developed and patented a tooth color shade analysis system, which combines the use of a digital camera and a software, to allow the user to map out the exact color of a tooth, which is very complex. I have worked with a few dental companies in developing this system, and have presented lectures on the technology. I currently am active in a practitioner based research network, which I believe is incredibly important to the future of dentistry, and healthcare standards in general. It is only through clinical studies that we can improve the standard of care for our patients. I hope to be able to one day return to my academic roots and teach at a dental school, training the dentists of the future. In the mean time, I am mentoring several young students who are aspiring to attend dental school.

Sealants are a coating that is bonded into the deepest crevices, or grooves, on the chewing surfaces of molars. How can I see an aesthetic dentist when my budget is tight?
I would suggest you seek treatment at a dental school. You can get excellent care, under the supervision of highly trained specialists who are instructing the dental students.  Your other option is to ask the dentist you are being treated by if they accept payment plans, and if this could be arranged...  Full Post

What can I do to reduce my tooth sensitivity?

The first step to take in addressing tooth sensitivity is having a dentist examine your teeth, to take care of any areas of decay or possibly cracked or broken teeth. If those issues have been addressed, and you just have sensitivity that is not lingering or painful, you can do a few things yourself, such as using
