My fitness passion began as a freshman at Howard University, where I participated in the Tae Kwon Do club and in Army ROTC. I wanted to physically excel in both areas and used my nutrition knowledge to gain the advantage. After earning my black belt, being commissioned as an officer, and passing my dietitian certification, I began my professional careers as an Army officer and new dietitian stationed in Hawaii.
After completing my service obligation, wanted to enhance my fitness knowledge by obtaining a master's degree, and eventually, multiple fitness certifications.
My specialities include: clinical nutrition, sports nutrition, heart disease, pre-hypertension/hypertension, pre-diabetes/type 2 diabetes, overweight/obesity, metabolic syndrome, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, GERD, IBS, correctional medicine, health and wellness education, and healthcare advocacy
