Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take lisinopril. It might harm the developing fetus or your baby. If you have kidney or liver problems, lisinopril might not be appropriate for you. If you have congestive heart failure or other heart diseases, like aortic stenosis or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, talk to your doctor before taking lisinopril. If you have diabetes, lupus or scleroderma, lisinopril might not be appropriate for you. If you have a history of angioedema, or swelling of the skin, then lisinopril might not be appropriate for you. If you are allergic to lisinopril, any of the ingredients of lisinopril or to other angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, do not take lisinopril.
